Co-founded in 2015 and directed by Emily Dobson and Grace Sellwood, Freefall is a Dance Company based in Falmouth, Cornwall. Running classes since 2010 Freefall has since established a thriving participation and training programme, also regularly creating performance work with it’s cohort of professional dancers, community participants, and through commission based work.
With an infectious and passionate drive, the company create athletic, honest and powerfully emotive performance work. The work is physical, but retains the intricate details of honesty and human response which is woven through it. It draws on common, compelling experiences capturing a wide range of audiences.
Freefall’s participation programme includes regular weekly classes, bi-annual Masterclasses, and an established annual Summer Intensive running since 2010 in partnership with Falmouth University. The company often invite guest dancers, teachers and choreographers to lead classes and choreographic workshops which has included Yael Flexer, Theo Clinkard, Joss Arnott, Nikki O’Hara and more. This forms part of Freefall’s ethos to encourage on-going professional training for dancers, practitioners, undergraduates and the local community.
